National History Day

National History Day is more than just a "day"—it's an exciting, yearlong program that promotes the discovery and interpretation of historical topics. For the contest, students produce dramatic performances, imaginative exhibits, multimedia documentaries, and papers based on research related to an annual theme. 20th Century Interactive invites students in southwestern Ohio to submit their National History Day projects to us, to publish your work on this website!

The theme for 2002 is "Revolution, Reaction, Reform in History." Right now, NHD is planning to use "Rights and Responsibilities in History" as the theme for the 2002-2003 school year.

The 20th Century Interactive Teacher's Guide has a great deal of information about National History Day. You can also contact Sara Bendure, Ohio Historical Society, 1982 Velma Ave., Columbus, OH 43211, (614) 297-2616. E-mail: sbendure@ohiohistory.org; website: http://www.ohiohistory.org
